Megan Clifford is director of strategy and innovation for the Global Security Sciences Division at Argonne National Laboratory. In this role, she develops and executes strategies with multi-disciplinary and cross-institutional teams to address a range of energy and global security challenges. She also leads Argonne’s Resilient Infrastructure Initiative, bringing together a diverse team of engineers and scientists to drive innovation for a more resilient infrastructure.

 

Megan’s career of 19 years has focused on national security and resilience policy and analysis, strategic planning, and program design. Her involvement in the national security mission dates back to the establishment of the US Department of Homeland Security, where she helped to create the foremost national preparedness doctrine. Her other clients have included the US Department of Energy, US Department of Justice, and US Department of Defense. She currently serves as the chair of the Data, Metrics, and Tools Committee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Community Resilience Panel for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems, and she is a member of the Preparedness Leadership Council International. Megan worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, most recently as principal director within the Justice and Homeland Security business practice, where she led a team of experts in supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, prior to joining Argonne.

 

Megan received a BA in International Business from The George Washington University. She is a current student and MBA candidate at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She holds the Project Management Institute certification as a Project Management Professional.
