John Willard III is a third generation CEO of CAW Industries, Inc. the company his grandfather, Dr. John Willard Sr., founded in 1973 to sell his PlantCatalyst® product line. PlantCatayst® empowers farmers to grow crops in a more sustainable way by increasing crop yield and reducing reliance on toxic, expensive fertilizers. A proprietary water additive catalyst, PlantCatalyst® stimulates cellular absorption of nutrients and helps plants better utilize nutrient blends leading to less dependence on chemical fertilizers and greater growth, yield and profitability for farmers. In recent years PlantCatalyst® staff have been working with international development agencies and other interested parties in sub-Saharan Africa to introduce PlantCatalyst® as part of the solution to chronic poverty and food security. PlantCatalyst® is now being offered to smallholder farmers in Mozambique, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe and will expand into several more countries by the end of 2019.
