Lord Mayor, City of Melbourne, Australia

Robert Doyle was elected in 2008, 2012 and 2016 and is the serving Lord Mayor of Melbourne.


Doyle is a principal at The Nous Group, a management consultancy business based in Melbourne and since 2007 has been chairman of Melbourne Health (The Royal Melbourne Hospital).


He is president of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and a trustee of the Shrine of Remembrance. Doyle serves as an ambassador for Odyssey House, SecondBite, White Ribbon Day Foundation, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He is an event champion for Field of Women and an ex-officio board member of the Cancer Council Victoria as well as ex-officio co-vice president of the Royal Humane Society of Australia. He is honorary president of the Melbourne region of the Scout Association and a board member of the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) Ltd. Doyle serves on the United Nations Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA). He is also an advisory board member of the World Economic Forum (Davos).


A Member of Victoria’s Parliament for 14 years, Robert was Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Liberal Party for four years. He has also been shadow minister for health and in government, parliamentary secretary for health.


In 2010 Doyle was made a fellow of Monash University and in 2016 was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Laws.
