Maryam Saleh is passionate about moving research into the market, where it can have impact and improve lives. She was a founding member of Cyberkinetics Neurotechnology Systems Inc., a startup that commercialized a brain implant that aimed to restore movement in paralyzed individuals. She’s also founded the Center for Device Development at Northwestern University, a fellowship program where doctors and engineers identify unmet clinical needs and test drive their medical device business idea. Her goal at MATTER is to build a strategy to encourage collaboration across multiple stakeholders to improve healthcare. She has a PhD in computational neuroscience from the University of Chicago and a BSc in computer engineering from Brown University.
